THE HEAD SCRATCHER

Smart meters can really help people take control of their energy consumption - and their household finances. That’s a powerful message during a national economic crisis. But how could we help not-for-profit campaigners Smart Energy GB cut through the noise of the saturated media landscape, to get Brits to listen?  

 

THE IDEA

Our strategy was to appeal to Brits’ in-built savviness, positioning smart meters as a canny, ‘in the know’ way to navigate the cost-of-living crisis.

The result was the ‘Super Smart Energy Savers’ – a three-phase thought leadership campaign. Research explored the nation’s attitudes and habits towards energy use and household bills. Real life case studies emotively brought the issue to life. And a panel of mediaworthy consumer champions, finance and Smart Energy GB experts provided added authority and campaign shareability with actionable advice.  

 

THE RESULTS

  • 2.4 billion+ campaign reach

  • 1,969 pieces of coverage, including 36 nationals

  • 100% of coverage was positive, 71% include energy saving tips
