TIN MAN’S NEW CONTENT CAMPAIGN HELPS VODAFONE BRIDGE THE DIGITAL DIVIDE

Have you ever tried to do everyday tasks like paying a bill, booking an appointment or finishing homework without the internet? Probably not often: on average, we send 270 text messages, make 180 phone calls and book 150 appointments online every month, according to new research from Vodafone.

But limited or zero access to the internet is the day-to-day reality for millions of people in the UK. And the cost-of-living crisis means even more are at risk of falling into the digital divide.

That’s why we’ve produced a three-part docu-series for Vodafone which explores the difficulties of being digitally excluded. Starring TV star Emma Willis, ‘Disconnected’ is raising awareness of Vodafone’s Everyone.Connected campaign which aims to help four million people and businesses cross the digital divide by the end of 2025.

In the first episode, Emma experiences life without digital connection, to shine a light on the challenges facing those who are digitally excluded. Watch how everyday tasks like making a doctor's appointment, sorting out her banking or finding her way around an unfamiliar area take her hours longer than usual.

Episode’s two and three, see Emma speaking to people affected by the digital divide and exploring the impact it has on their lives.
